Chunghwa Telecom signed a strategic MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with HTC on February 9, 2011, for business cooperation on mobile broadband and value-added services, according to the Commercial Times of Taiwan. It is projected that the business tie-up will further expand to include cloud computing in the long run. As per the MOU, the two companies are expected to share marketing resources, HTC is projected to integrate its CPE with Chunghwa Telecom's value-added services, while Chunghwa Telecom is reported to increase purchases of HTC CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), such as Smartphones and tablet PCs.

HTC is expected to sign similar agreements with two other Taiwanese telecom operators, Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone Telecom this year, according to the same source.
